Anna Teurnell, the newly appointed creative director of Filippa K, has unveiled a capsule collection that offers a glimpse into her minimalist design philosophy. Teurnell envisions this collection as “a little wardrobe that you can use whether you’re commuting to work or walking the dog,” reflecting the practicality she incorporates into her everyday life.
This collection marks a subtle yet impactful shift in Teurnell’s design approach. “I don’t want to see a thousand products—I want to see small coordinations” that seamlessly blend together, she explains. “This is not how collections are developed often, but for me it’s super important.”
Teurnell believes in creating timeless pieces by making small, but significant, adjustments. She tweaks silhouettes, plays with fabric weights and weaves, and introduces fresh details that elevate the classic Filippa K aesthetic.
For men, the collection features corduroy suiting, tailored two-pleat trousers paired with a bonded-leather shearling jacket and sneakers, demonstrating a sophisticated yet comfortable approach. Women can expect ’90s-inspired straight and slim jeans paired with mohair sweaters or suede shackets, highlighting the collection’s focus on tactile textures.
A standout piece is a delicious banana-sleeve camel peacoat paired with a matching mini skirt. “I can’t think of Filippa K not having this kind of club-kid miniskirt,” Teurnell notes. “I had a few back then.” The collection also includes subtle evening options such as sheer chiffon pants with a satin coat and an LBD featuring a deep V and a generous bow sash. “I like those solutions where you don’t feel that naked,” Teurnell comments. “It’s a bit charming as well, which I also think fits the brand.”
