Another Hand Launches Exciting New Dining Concept ‘Jaan’ in Manchester

Another Hand, a Manchester restaurant renowned for its exceptional cuisine, is set to launch a new dining concept called Jaan. This exciting pop-up project, inspired by the vibrant flavors of the Middle East, will open its doors at Exhibition food hall on Peter Street from May 8th, occupying the former space of Rigatoni’s.

Jaan will join existing food traders Osma and Baratxuri within St George’s House, the former home of Manchester’s natural history museum, which was transformed into an upscale dining hub in 2022. The new dining concept will revolve around Another Hand’s signature flatbreads, a staple of their menu at their original site on Deansgate Mews. These delectable flatbreads will be accompanied by a tempting selection of small plates and larger plates, ensuring something to satisfy every palate.

Chef-patrons Max Yorke and Julian Pizer express their excitement about this new venture: “We are honored to have the opportunity to cook alongside Osma and Baratxuri at Exhibition Manchester. Our small restaurant has generated a significant waiting list, and we are eager to introduce our new concept to a wider audience. Most importantly, we are committed to improving our environmental standards, and our food waste systems have shown us an area where we can make a difference. By opening a second kitchen in such a fast-paced venue, we can utilize unused produce from Another Hand and further reduce, and hopefully eliminate, our wastage.”

Another Hand’s inclusion in the latest edition of the Michelin Inspectors’ Favorite New Restaurants just eight months after its opening and its subsequent award for Best Newcomer at the Manchester Food and Drink Awards are testaments to the culinary excellence it has consistently delivered. The restaurant’s sustainability focus extends to its new Persian bread kitchen concept at Jaan. Unsold or unused ingredients from Another Hand’s flagship restaurant will be repurposed at Jaan, with the flatbreads featuring ever-changing seasonal toppings to showcase the freshest produce available.

Diners can indulge in a tantalizing array of small plates, including pickled Shetland mussels with za’atar crème fraiche and lemon, whipped butterbean with charred onion chutney and sumac, and ex-dairy tartare with horseradish, pomegranate, molasses, and onion rings. All small plates will be served with a signature flatbread.

Larger plates offer equally enticing options, such as slow-cooked lamb shank with Another Hand’s delicious ancient grains, grilled octopus with nduja, fire-roasted sea trout with fatoush salad, and Chermoula chicken with broken rice.

Jaan Persian Bread Kitchen will open within Exhibition on May 8th, joining Osma and Baratxuri on the venue’s restaurant floor. The food hall is conveniently located at St George’s House, 56 Peter St, Manchester M2 3NQ.
