Artifacts are essentially live previews of content generated by Claude. They provide a dedicated space outside the main chat window where users can view, edit, and build upon AI-generated creations. This includes a variety of content types like:

* Code snippets
* Single-page HTML websites
* Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) images
* Diagrams
* Flowcharts
These capabilities are particularly useful for tasks like generating architecture diagrams from codebases, building interactive prototypes, and creating visualizations for rapid prototyping. Anthropic highlights how Artifacts create a dynamic workspace, seamlessly integrating AI-generated content into projects and workflows.
While Artifacts are now accessible across all tiers (Free, Pro, and Teams), sharing capabilities differ slightly depending on the subscription level. Free and Pro users have the option to publish their Artifacts publicly, enabling other users to remix and republish the work. Teams users, on the other hand, operate within walled gardens, allowing sharing only within their Projects and accessible solely to teammates.
