The School Education Department of Andhra Pradesh has announced the schedule for the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (AP TET) 2024, which will be conducted in a computer-based format. The application process is set to begin on July 4th and will continue until July 17th. The payment window for the application fee will be open from July 3rd to 16th. As per the announced schedule, the AP TET 2024 exam will commence on August 5th and conclude on August 20th. The results are expected to be declared on August 30th.
The notification released on July 2nd emphasizes the importance of the Teacher Eligibility Test, stating its objective is to ensure national standards and benchmark teacher quality in the recruitment process, aligning with the guidelines of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
The education department highlights that passing the AP TET is a fundamental requirement for anyone seeking to be appointed as a teacher in schools, both government and private, within Andhra Pradesh. This aligns with the provisions outlined in the RTE Act.
Applicants will be required to pay a fee of ₹ 750 for each exam – Paper-1A, Paper-1B, Paper-2A, and Paper-2B.
It is important to note that while qualifying the AP TET 2024 exam is a necessary step, it does not automatically guarantee appointment as a teacher in Andhra Pradesh government institutions. Candidates must also fulfill the relevant statutory recruitment rules established by the state government.
The result for the AP TET February exam was declared last month after a significant delay.
