As if the vibrant scene of L.A.’s Venice Beach wasn’t captivating enough, it recently witnessed a unique spectacle: apes patrolling the sand on horseback. This eye-catching performance was orchestrated by the marketing team behind ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ to promote the upcoming film’s release.
While the apes on horseback were not actual primates – to avoid PETA’s scrutiny – the actors in costume convincingly portrayed the animals. They strolled around the beach with menacing stares, embodying a scene straight from the movie’s plot where apes dominate society.
Although the apes didn’t engage in high-octane galloping, their presence generated considerable buzz about the film, which is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on May 10th. The online community erupted with enthusiasm for the marketing stunt, lauding it as a stroke of brilliance.
Directed by Wes Ball, ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ is the sequel to 2017’s ‘War for the Planet of the Apes.’ While Venice Beach is known for its eccentric sights and characters, the apes on patrol added a peculiar touch to the already lively atmosphere.
