This week is a whirlwind for Apple fans! Following the official releases of iOS 18, watchOS 11, and macOS 15, and the upcoming launch of the iPhone 16 series, Apple is now making its highly anticipated Apple Intelligence features available to the public.
Starting today, September 19th, you can download the public betas for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS 15.1. These betas offer a sneak peek at Apple Intelligence, previously exclusive to developer betas. While the official rollout is slated for October, eager users can now get their hands on these exciting features.
So, what can you expect from these public betas? They include the following Apple Intelligence features:
*
Writing Tools:
This feature, previously tested earlier this year, allows you to proofread your writing and modify its tone (friendly, professional, concise) within any app using a text field.*
Improved Siri:
The public betas introduce a new Siri design, the ability to type commands, and deeper product knowledge. Ask Siri how to take a screen recording, and it will provide step-by-step instructions. Siri also understands you better, even if you stumble over your words.*
Enhanced Messaging:
Benefit from priority messages, email summaries, and Smart Reply in the Mail app. Messages and Notes also feature message summaries and Smart Reply, making communication more efficient.*
Transcription Summaries:
Get concise summaries of phone calls and notes with the transcription summary feature. While these public betas offer a glimpse into the future of Apple Intelligence, some features are still under development. ChatGPT integration with Siri, Siri’s personal context features, image creation tools (Image Playground and Genmoji), and Priority Notifications will be available later this year or next year.
Apple Intelligence is compatible with all iPhone 16 models, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, iPads with an M1 chip or newer, and Macs with an M1 chip or later.
Ready to try these features? Head over to the Apple Beta Software Program website, sign in to your Apple account, and download the public betas.
