According to industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has reduced its shipment forecast for the Vision Pro headset for the remainder of the year due to a decline in demand. The tech giant had initially anticipated selling around 700,000 to 800,000 units in 2024, but has now revised its estimates to approximately 400,000 to 450,000 units. Kuo suggests that this reduction is a result of insufficient key applications, pricing concerns, and comfort issues with the headset. The analyst emphasizes that Apple must address these shortcomings while maintaining a positive user experience in order to stimulate demand for the Vision Pro and drive the growth of pancake lenses and microOLED display technology in compact consumer electronics.
