Apple Inc. (AAPL) has unveiled the latest addition to its wearable tech lineup – the Apple Watch Series 10. The new smartwatch boasts a sleek, thinner design and a larger display, promising an enhanced user experience.
The Apple Watch Series 10 was introduced at the Apple Glowtime event on Monday, where Apple’s COO, Jeff Williams, highlighted the device’s groundbreaking features. The Series 10 features a larger screen, allowing users to increase the font size without sacrificing content visibility. The new display also boasts a wider aspect ratio and more rounded corners, giving the watch a softer, more streamlined appearance.
Apple emphasizes the Series 10’s advanced display, which is the largest wearable display ever built by Apple. The new wide-angle OLED display delivers up to 40% brighter visibility when viewed from an angle, improving visibility in diverse settings. The Series 10 also comes in two new colors – Jet Black and Rose Gold – in addition to Silver Aluminum.
The Series 10 features a new screen that updates once per second with a ticking second hand, enhancing the watch’s aesthetic appeal. The device is remarkably thin, measuring at 9.7mm, nearly 10% thinner than its predecessor. It also boasts the fastest charging time of any Apple Watch, reaching 80% charge in just 30 minutes.
Williams also highlighted the Series 10’s lighter weight, with aluminum cases weighing up to 10% less. The device is also available in Grade 5 titanium, which is 20% lighter than the Stainless Steel Series 9. Apple has also updated the Milanese Loop and Link Bracelet to complement the new finishes.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is a carbon-neutral product, made with 95% recycled titanium and 100% renewable electricity. Apple continues to prioritize sustainability in its product development.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is priced starting at $399 for the GPS version and $499 for the GPS and Cellular version. Pre-orders open today, with shipping expected to begin on September 20.
