Apple’s Upcoming Mac Mini: M4 Chip, USB-C Ports, and a November Launch

Apple is on the cusp of unveiling its highly anticipated iPhone 16 lineup in September, but the tech giant is not stopping there. The following month, October, will see the debut of the next-generation Mac Mini, powered by the powerful new M4 chip. This revamped Mac Mini is expected to completely ditch USB-A ports in favor of USB-C, signaling a move towards a more streamlined and modern design.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter, the upcoming Mac Mini will boast a total of five USB-C ports, with three located on the rear and two conveniently placed on the front. These USB-C ports will be joined by an HDMI port and an Ethernet port, providing ample connectivity options for users.

Beyond the port upgrades, the new Mac Mini is rumored to be a powerhouse, promising a significant performance leap over its predecessors. The M4 chip is anticipated to deliver a 50% speed increase compared to the M2, paired with a 10-core GPU, Dynamic Caching, and hardware ray-tracing capabilities. This combination of features has led some to describe the new Mac Mini as essentially an iPad Pro in a compact form factor.

While the unveiling is scheduled for October, Apple plans to release the new Mac Mini to the public in November. This means that tech enthusiasts and professionals alike will have to wait just a little longer to get their hands on this potentially game-changing device.
