Since partnering with OpenAI in January, the university has launched over 250 AI projects across its departments. Faculty at ASU maintain control over the integration of AI in their courses, ensuring clarity on where AI is encouraged and where it requires proper attribution and citation.
ASU’s groundbreaking collaboration with OpenAI has inspired other institutions like the University of Oxford and the Wharton School to adopt similar AI integration strategies. The partnership has yielded positive results, with AI tools being incorporated across nearly every department at ASU. Microsoft Corp., with its $13 billion investment in OpenAI, is facing scrutiny from the European Union. The EU is investigating potential anti-competitive practices related to this investment, reflecting the growing regulatory challenges in the AI sector.
