Arnold Schwarzenegger Involved in Serious Car Accident

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the renowned Austrian-American actor, politician, and former governor of California, was involved in a serious car accident on January 21, 2022. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. ET when Schwarzenegger’s SUV collided with a red Prius on Sunset Boulevard. The collision caused Schwarzenegger’s vehicle to roll over onto the Prius, resulting in severe injuries to the Prius driver. Eyewitnesses described the scene as reminiscent of a movie stunt, with the injured driver reportedly bleeding heavily from the head. Paramedics immediately transported the driver to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Schwarzenegger, 76, was approximately a mile away from his home at the time of the accident. He was accompanied by fitness personality Jake Steinfeld, who was also present at the scene. It is unclear whether Steinfeld was a passenger in Schwarzenegger’s vehicle. The two men are known to be close friends, with Steinfeld serving as the Chairman of the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness during Schwarzenegger’s tenure.

Schwarzenegger, a Republican, entered politics in 2003 when he replaced Democratic governor Gray Davis in a recall election. He actively addressed global warming during his time as governor, signing the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 and negotiating the creation of a carbon emissions trading market with England. After leaving office in 2011, Schwarzenegger returned to acting, starring in sequels to The Terminator and collaborating with Sylvester Stallone in the upcoming film TMZ Presents: Arnold and Sly: Rivals, Friends, Icons, premiering on Fox in April 2024.
