In a thrilling Premier League encounter, Arsenal emerged victorious from a nail-biting match against Leicester City, securing a 4-2 victory after a dramatic comeback. The Gunners were dominant in the first half, taking a comfortable lead through goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard. Martinelli opened the scoring in the 20th minute, notching his first goal of the season, before setting up Trossard for a second just before the break.
Leicester, who struggled to create any real opportunities in the first half, were offered a lifeline early in the second half. A free-kick struck James Justin and deflected past David Raya, giving the Foxes a glimmer of hope. Justin then volleyed home an equaliser in the 63rd minute, silencing the home crowd and turning the tide of the match.
The drama wasn’t over yet, though. Arsenal, refusing to be denied, mounted a late siege and were rewarded for their persistence in stoppage time. Trossard bundled in Bukayo Saka’s corner in the fourth minute of added time to put Arsenal back in front, before Kai Havertz sealed the points with a decisive finish.
This hard-fought victory propelled Arsenal to 14 points, drawing them level with league leaders Manchester City, who had earlier drawn at Newcastle United.
Meanwhile, West Ham United fought back to secure a 1-1 draw with Brentford. Brentford took the lead in the opening minute when Bryan Mbeumo, after a swift counter-attack, volleyed the ball into the top-right corner. West Ham eventually equalized in the second half, with Tomas Soucek capitalizing on a chance from inside the box. This draw leaves West Ham in 14th place with five points, two fewer than Brentford, who sit in 12th place.
