Aryna Sabalenka Prefers Men’s Tennis Over Women’s, Aims to Fight Till the End at Madrid Open

World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka has made an intriguing revelation about her viewing preferences in tennis. Ahead of her title defense at the Madrid Open, the Belarusian star has expressed a preference for watching men’s tennis over women’s.

As the reigning Australian Open champion, Sabalenka is the top seed in the second half of the draw at Madrid. She received a first-round bye and will face either Magda Linette or Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the second round.

Speaking to the press ahead of her matches, Sabalenka shared her thoughts on the ‘Big Three’ of the WTA, which includes herself, Iga Swiatek, and Ons Jabeur. However, she admitted that she prefers watching men’s tennis, saying, “I feel that I have lowered the level a little within that hypothetical ‘Big Three’, this last month seems more like a Big Two (laughs).”

Sabalenka emphasized that she enjoys being part of the WTA group and knows the players well enough that she doesn’t need to watch videos of them. She expressed confidence in her level of tennis and her ability to compete with any player on tour.

Despite recent challenges, Sabalenka is determined to perform well in Madrid. She is aiming to become only the second woman to win three Madrid Open titles. Sabalenka is known for her never-say-die attitude and is ready to give it her all in the Spanish capital.
