The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) was established in May 2021 by prominent Asian American business leaders in response to the rise in anti-Asian hate during the COVID-19 pandemic. TAAF’s mission is to “close critical gaps of support for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and end the longstanding underinvestment in our communities.”
The summit, which will take place from May 2-3 in Manhattan, will feature a range of panels and workshops on topics such as economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, education, and health. There will also be showcases of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander entrepreneurs in various sectors, including nonprofits and philanthropy.
The summit is part of TAAF’s ongoing efforts to support the AAPI community. In its first year, TAAF secured more than $1 billion in donor pledges for AAPI organizations through its “AAPI Giving Challenge.” TAAF also supports AAPI-led organizations working on issues such as affordable housing, food security, and mental health.
