Sony’s May 2024 State of Play presentation brought exciting news for fans of the beloved Astro Bot series. A new entry, simply titled Astro Bot, was revealed, marking the third game in the platformer franchise. Scheduled for release on September 6th for PlayStation 5, the game promises an expanded adventure for our robotic hero.
Astro Bot finds himself on a quest to reunite his scattered crew across six galaxies and over 80 levels. The trailer showcases a variety of biomes, including arctic landscapes, beaches, and the skies high above. Along the way, players will encounter familiar PlayStation characters such as Parappa the Rappa, Kratos from God of War Ragnarok, and Aloy from Horizon Forbidden West.
To aid in his journey, Astro gains access to an arsenal of over 15 new abilities. One of these, Barkster, allows him to air-dash and smash through obstacles and enemies. The game takes full advantage of the DualSense controller’s advanced features, utilizing haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to enhance the immersive gameplay experience.
The Astro Bot series, developed by Team Asobi, has gained critical acclaim for its charming characters, innovative gameplay, and stunning visuals.
