Manson’s breakaway goal just before the end of the period extended the Avalanche’s lead to 4-2. Nichushkin added an empty-net goal in the final minute to seal the win.
Georgiev made 28 saves for Colorado, while Hellebuyck, who had allowed five goals in Game 1, faced 32 shots in Game 2. Gustafsson and Scheifele scored for Winnipeg.
Game 3 of the series will be played in Denver on Friday at 10 p.m. ET. The Avalanche will look to take a 2-1 lead in the series, while the Jets will aim to regain home-ice advantage.
