An Avion Express Airbus A320ceo, previously involved in a runway incident at Vilnius Airport (VNO) in February 2024, has successfully returned to service. The aircraft’s inaugural flight after the incident occurred on June 25, 2024, marking a significant milestone in its recovery process.
According to Flightradar24 data, the repaired Airbus A320ceo, with registration LY-NVL, took off from Vilnius Airport at 19:58 local time (UTC +3) on June 25th. The flight, which remained within Lithuanian airspace, touched down back in Vilnius at 22:01, concluding a journey lasting over two hours.
During the flight, the aircraft ascended to various cruising altitudes, reaching a maximum height of 39,000 feet (11,887 meters). It maintained different altitudes throughout the journey, including 31,000 feet (9,448 m), 35,000 feet (10,668 m), 15,000 feet (4,572 m), 13,500 feet (4,114 m), and 10,000 feet (3,048 m).
Žilvinas Lapinskas, the CEO of FL Technics, confirmed that this flight marked the aircraft’s first operational flight since undergoing repairs. It’s worth noting that the investigation into the February 2024 runway incident, conducted by the Republic of Lithuania’s Ministry of Justice, is still in progress.
