Telford-based Aviramp, a world-renowned manufacturer of aircraft boarding ramps and bridges, has announced securing £1.2 million in fresh orders from Frontier Airlines, a prominent US carrier. These new orders, totaling nine of Aviramp’s advanced step-free boarding ramps, represent Frontier Airlines’ continued commitment to Aviramp, following an investment of close to £2 million over the past 18 months. Graham Corfield, Chief Executive and founder of Aviramp, expressed his delight and confidence in the latest orders. He stated that Frontier Airlines’ repeat business is a testament to Aviramp’s dedication to innovation and the exceptional quality of their ramps.
Aviramp’s boarding ramps and bridges provide a safe, dignified, and efficient alternative to traditional steps and separate ambulifts for passengers with reduced mobility and wheelchair users. Their low-angled ramps incorporate a unique non-slip surface that enhances safety for all passengers. The ramps are designed to reduce turnaround times at airports, contributing to operational efficiency.
Additionally, Aviramp’s ramps are equipped with solar panels, making them the first of their kind in the world. This sustainable feature aligns with the aviation industry’s drive towards a Net Zero future by reducing the reliance on diesel-powered or manual ramps. Frontier Airlines, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, operates flights to over 100 destinations across the United States and 31 international destinations, employing over 3,000 individuals. This latest order brings the total number of Aviramps supplied to Frontier to 14, demonstrating the carrier’s trust in Aviramp’s products.
Aviramp’s ramps have gained recognition worldwide, with orders spanning countries such as the Philippines, Minneapolis, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius, Italy, Japan, South Africa, and the UK, all secured within this year. The company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability has earned it the prestigious Queen’s Award for International Trade. Aviramp’s ramps empower passengers with reduced mobility to board aircraft independently, providing them with a dignified and comfortable travel experience.
