Ayodhya, the sacred city, is set to host its inaugural Deepotsav following the consecration of the Ram Mandir, promising a grand celebration of light and faith. This year’s festivities aim to make history as the Uttar Pradesh government seeks to secure two Guinness World Records.
On Wednesday, the city will illuminate an impressive 2.8 million diyas (oil lamps) at the Ram Mandir, surpassing all previous records. This dazzling display will create a breathtaking visual spectacle, representing the city’s devotion and the significance of the Ram Mandir.
The celebrations continue with a simultaneous attempt to break another record during the aarti at Sarayug Ghat, where 1,100 diyas will be lit by 1,100 Vedacharyas (Hindu scholars), further enhancing the event’s spiritual essence.
Uttar Pradesh Minister Jaiveer Singh emphasized the government’s dedication to making this Deepotsav unforgettable: “This is the first Deepotsav after the Pran Pratishtha of Ram Mandir, and we’ve put in every effort to ensure its grandeur and divinity. We aim to set new records this year. Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will be present for today’s program.”
He also mentioned that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will attend, and artists from various countries will participate. “This year, we will light 2.8 million diyas, breaking all our previous records, and perform aarti with 1,100 diyas at Sarayug Ghat alongside 1,100 Vedacharyas, setting a new Guinness World Record.”
The Deepotsav is not just a celebration of lights but a tribute to faith, tradition, and cultural heritage. The event is expected to attract thousands of visitors from across India and around the world, making Ayodhya a vibrant center of spiritual energy and cultural richness. With the goal of setting new Guinness World Records, this year’s Deepotsav promises to be a historic occasion, leaving lasting memories for all who attend.
