Azerbaijan is making its presence felt at the Tourism Expo Japan 2024 (TEJ), held from September 26 to 29 in Tokyo. The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) is showcasing the country’s diverse travel experiences, inviting attendees to discover its rich cultural heritage, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and a plethora of adventure, wellness, and business opportunities.
At the Azerbaijan booth, visitors can interact with ATB representatives and industry partners, delving deeper into the country’s offerings and exploring potential collaboration opportunities. The event has seen significant interest from Japanese tourism agencies, eager to strengthen tourism connections with Azerbaijan. Highlighting the importance of this event, Gursel Ismayilzada, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Japan, visited the booth, symbolizing the strong bilateral relations between the two nations.
Azerbaijan has emerged as a captivating destination for Asian travelers in recent years, thanks to its convenient flight connections, streamlined visa processes, and reputation as a vibrant cultural and business hub. Japanese tourists can easily obtain an e-visa, either in advance or upon arrival at the airport.
At the TEJ, Azerbaijan is showcasing its diverse attractions, including UNESCO World Heritage sites like Baku’s Old City, the Gobustan Rock Art Cultural Landscape, the Sheki Historic Centre, the newly recognized Khinalig village, and the ‘Köç Yolu’ Transhumance Route.
