The murder of prominent NCP leader Baba Siddique continues to send shockwaves through Mumbai, with his son Zeeshan Siddique, a Congress MLA, demanding justice and urging against politicization of the tragic incident. In a poignant message shared on X (formerly Twitter), Zeeshan emphasized his father’s selfless act, stating, “My father lost his life protecting and saving the lives and homes of poor innocent people.” He further stressed the need for justice, asserting, “Today, my family is broken, but his death must not be politicised and definitely not go in vain. I NEED JUSTICE, MY FAMILY NEEDS JUSTICE!”

Baba Siddique was brutally shot dead on Saturday, October 12, by three assailants while returning from his son’s office in Bandra East. He sustained two gunshot wounds to the chest and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital for emergency treatment, but tragically succumbed to his injuries.

In a significant development, Mumbai Police have issued a look-out circular against Shubham Lonkar, an absconding accused in the high-profile murder case. “We have issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against Shubham Lonkar, an absconding accused in the case. Police are continuously searching for the accused in NCP leader Baba Siddique’s murder case,” ANI quoted Mumbai police as saying.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde vowing to hold the culprits accountable. “No one will be spared. Strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty,” the Chief Minister declared.
