Prepare to be terrified. Lionsgate’s chilling trailer for ‘Bagman’ introduces a terrifying creature that snatches children, stuffs them into its bag, and consumes them. Sam Claflin, portraying Patrick McKee, delivers a chilling line: “No matter where you try to run and hide, he always knows where to find you.”
The Bagman, as its name suggests, is a monstrous entity that preys on children, particularly those deemed “nice.” Luring them into its cave with toys, the Bagman feeds off their fear and anxiety, leaving no trace of its victims. Patrick, haunted by his own encounter with the Bagman as a young boy, attempts to convince himself and his brother that the creature is just a story, a tactic their father used to keep them in line. However, deep down, he knows the truth.
Now, years later, Patrick is forced to confront his childhood nightmare when the Bagman returns, targeting his wife Karina (Antonia Thomas) and son Jake (Caréll Vincent Rhoden). The film features a talented cast, including Frankie Corio, Sharon D. Clarke, Steven Cree, William Hope, Adelle Leonce, Peter McDonald, Henry Pettigrew, Caréll Rhoden, and Will Davis.
At the helm of this terrifying tale is director Colm McCarthy, known for his work on ‘Outcast,’ ‘The Girl with All the Gifts,’ and episodes of ‘Peaky Blinders.’ John Hulme penned the script, while Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, John Fischer, and Isaac Klausner produced the film.
Lionsgate, known for its successful distribution of horror films, has already released ‘Imaginary’ and ‘The Strangers: Chapter 1’ this year, both earning substantial box office returns. ‘Bagman’ is poised to continue this trend, promising a terrifying experience for audiences when it arrives in theaters on September 20, 2024.
