Larian Studios has announced new evil endings for Baldur’s Gate 3, providing players who crave darkness with the opportunity to see their characters and companions suffer. These endings, accompanied by newly created cinematics, offer a deeper dive into the depths of the Dark Urge, a character background driven by an insatiable thirst for cruelty. The Dark Urge is defined by its haunting description: “You remember nothing but a path paved with blood. Unimaginable cruelty whispers to you from within. Can you escape it? Would you even want to?”
A recently released teaser on X (formerly Twitter) offers a glimpse into one of these dark endings, hinting at the consequences of embracing the Dark Urge. While the specifics remain shrouded in mystery, the teaser suggests a bleak fate for companions, confirming the anticipated consequences of an evil playthrough. This is the most extensive look we’ve received so far at the new evil cinematic endings. Larian previously shared glimpses through two GIFs and a snippet of new music composed by Borislav Slavov.
These new endings are part of Patch 7, set to release in September. The patch will introduce significant improvements to the Dark Urge system, including enhanced features and gameplay mechanics. It also boasts a comprehensive modding toolkit with a native mod manager, allowing players to customize their experience. Additionally, the update brings an overhauled split-screen mode, changes to the permadeath Honor Mode, bug fixes for numerous Origin characters, and a host of other enhancements.
Patch 7 marks one of the final major updates for Baldur’s Gate 3 as Larian Studios shifts its focus to new projects. Despite this, the company is committed to delivering promised additions and fixes, including crossplay and a photo mode, to ensure a complete and enriching experience for players.
