In observance of Buddha Purnima, banks in 18 Indian states will be closed for business on May 23, 2024. This decision aligns with the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday schedule. The states affected by the bank holiday include Tripura, Maharashtra, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Despite the physical bank closures, digital banking services will continue to operate normally, allowing customers to access their accounts and conduct transactions online or via mobile banking apps.
