Bay Area Campuses Lockdown Due to Unspecified Threats

Unspecified threats prompted a campus closure at Gunn High School in Palo Alto and a lockdown at Miramonte High School in the East Bay on Monday afternoon. No injuries were reported at either school.

Gunn High School was placed on shelter-in-place around 2:35 p.m. due to an unconfirmed threat. The nearby Fletcher Middle School was also placed on shelter-in-place as a precaution. Palo Alto police made the announcement about the threat to the campus located at 780 Arastradero Road.

A police dispatcher confirmed that Miramonte High School, located at 750 Moraga Way, was placed on lockdown around 3 p.m. due to an unspecified threat. A listed phone number for the school was not answered on Monday afternoon.
