A bear in Duarte, California, found an unconventional way to cool off from the summer heat. The furry visitor was captured on video thoroughly enjoying a dip in a homeowner’s backyard hot tub. The homeowner reported that the bear spent a leisurely 15 minutes in the water before eventually leaving. While bears are often seen in the foothills searching for food, this particular bear seemed to prefer a refreshing soak. According to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW), bears typically emerge from hibernation during the spring and summer months. The CDFW advises residents who encounter bears in their backyards to slowly back away and create loud noises by banging pots and pans together to deter the animals. It is essential to allow the bear ample space to leave the area. In the event that a bear enters a home, residents should prioritize their safety and call 911 immediately.
