Owning a pool is a joy, but it comes with the constant burden of maintenance. When my trusty pool cleaner finally gave up after five years of dedicated service, I knew it was time to upgrade. The Beatbot Aquasense Pro, boasting an array of advanced features and sleek design, caught my eye. Was this the answer to my pool cleaning woes? Let’s dive in.
The Aquasense Pro is a marvel of modern pool cleaning technology. It navigates your pool with impressive accuracy, thanks to its powerful quad-core CPU and room-mapping technology. Not only does it clean the floor and sides of your pool, but it can also clarify the water with an optional clarifying kit and even act as a skimmer. While the skimmer function seemed a bit unusual to me, the overall versatility of the Aquasense Pro is impressive.
Setting up the Aquasense Pro is a breeze. Just like most smart home devices, you connect to its Wi-Fi network, then connect it to your home’s network using your phone. The intuitive app guides you through the process, and a firmware update is easily managed right from your phone. Once configured, simply drop the Aquasense Pro into your pool, select the cleaning mode, and let it do its magic.
Over two months of testing, the Aquasense Pro consistently delivered reliable performance. I particularly liked the ability to customize cleaning modes, allowing me to target specific areas like the pool floor or opt for a full cleaning including walls and skimming. While cleaning the walls and skimming took significantly longer, it did a commendable job. The Aquasense Pro usually floated to the surface when finished, making retrieval easy. Occasionally, it remained submerged, requiring me to use the included hook. This was likely due to a depleted battery, as the unit can’t complete two full cleanings on a single charge.
The Aquasense Pro’s battery life is adequate. It managed to clean my entire pool floor in floor mode with around 39% battery remaining. Cleaning the walls and surface, however, consumed a larger portion of the battery, around 85%. Charging the unit is straightforward. Just place it in the docking station after ensuring it’s mostly dry.
Compared to other pool cleaners I’ve used, the Aquasense Pro stands out. I’ve had my fair share of struggles with traditional corded cleaners and even experienced a disappointing four-month lifespan with a wireless competitor. The Aquasense Pro has consistently outperformed, demonstrating superior reliability. However, the hefty price tag might make some pool owners pause.
Is the Aquasense Pro worth the investment? If you demand a spotless pool and are fascinated by the latest tech, it might be worth the splurge. However, for most pool owners, the regular Aquasense offers comparable performance at a lower price. Overall, the Aquasense Pro gets the job done and is relatively low-hassle, which are major wins in the world of pool maintenance. While not perfect, it’s a solid choice for tech-savvy pool owners seeking a powerful and convenient cleaning solution.
