Beijing Chaoyang International Tea Culture Festival 2024 Unveils a World of Tea

At Chaoyang Park and the elegant Junwangfu Hotel, the 2024 Beijing Chaoyang International Tea Culture Festival has commenced, boasting over 100 tea brands. The festival immerses visitors in the captivating world of tea through a myriad of engaging events and experiences.

Upon entering Junwangfu Hotel, the melodious strains of the guqin set the tone for the festival. This exquisite garden-style venue has been transformed into a haven for tea enthusiasts, offering designated areas for exhibitions, interactive sessions, immersive shopping, and innovative cultural experiences, allowing guests to delve deeply into the rich tapestry of Chinese tea culture.

The festival goes beyond traditional offerings, featuring unique activities such as scent ceremonies, ikebana flower arrangements, Hanfu cultural performances, tea-inspired poetry sessions, tea tasting, flower identification, and modern events like the ‘Tea & Coffee Theme Salon’ and ‘Sunset Music Party’, all carefully curated to foster social interactions among tea-loving youth.

Although not a tea-producing region, Beijing’s Chaoyang District has a renowned reputation for its high tea consumption, leading the city with its abundance of traditional tea houses and innovative tea drink establishments. The festival’s opening day witnessed the launch of Chaoyang’s Tea Fragrance Tour Map, meticulously pinpointing the top tea fragrance spots across 12 key business areas, including the bustling CBD, Sanlitun, Wangjing, and Shuangjing.

Looking to the future, Chaoyang District envisions expanding its cultural consumption offerings to support Beijing’s transformation into an international consumption hub, with aspirations of becoming a ‘City of Tea Fragrance’ and a ‘Garden City’. Home to numerous embassies, international media outlets, organizations, and multinational corporate regional headquarters, Chaoyang, known as ‘China’s Number One District for Foreign Affairs’, embraces the universal language of tea. The district aims to present global visitors with a unique glimpse into Chinese culture and aesthetics while also fostering a deeper appreciation of diverse international tea traditions, such as English black tea and Argentine mate. Through the medium of tea, Chaoyang eagerly anticipates welcoming visitors from around the world to share in the enjoyment and allure of this beloved beverage.
