As the Indian Super League (ISL) teams head into the international break, Bengaluru FC remains firmly entrenched at the top of the points table. The Blues are still undefeated, boasting three wins and a draw, as they aim to secure their first-ever ISL Shield.
Last season’s shield winners, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, have recovered from their 0-3 defeat against Bengaluru last week by convincingly beating their city rivals, Mohammedan SC, with a 3-0 victory. This result has propelled Bagan up to fourth place in the standings.
The ISL playoffs format remains unchanged. The top two teams after the regular season automatically qualify for the semi-finals. The teams ranked between third and sixth will compete in the season-ending playoffs, with the winners of those matches joining the top two in the semi-finals.
With the league taking a break for international fixtures, fans will have to wait to see if Bengaluru FC can maintain their unbeaten run and if Mohun Bagan Super Giant can continue their climb up the table.
