Bengaluru Murder: Police Close In on Suspect in Gruesome Dismemberment Case

The gruesome murder of a 29-year-old woman in Bengaluru has sent shockwaves through the city, and the police are now closing in on a prime suspect. The victim, identified as Mahalakshmi, was found dismembered and stored in a refrigerator at her home. Her body was discovered by her mother and sister, who were met with the horrific sight of her remains chopped into 59 pieces.

According to reports, the police have identified one of Mahalakshmi’s colleagues, a man named Mukti, as the primary suspect. Sources suggest that Mukti had expressed disapproval of Mahalakshmi’s relationship with another man, potentially providing a motive for the brutal crime.

Following the discovery of the body, Mahalakshmi’s estranged husband raised suspicions about Mukti’s involvement. The police have confirmed that Mukti’s phone is currently switched off and that they are actively pursuing him near the border of Odisha and West Bengal.

Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara has stated that the police have received information about the suspect’s presence in Odisha and have dispatched teams to apprehend him. He emphasized the seriousness of the case and the police’s commitment to bringing the perpetrator to justice.

“We have taken the case very seriously, as the murder had shaken the entire Bengaluru,” Parameshwara said. “Already the police have identified that the person is in Odisha and have gathered information that he is behind the crime. Police have sent three to four teams there. He is said to be on the run changing places.”

Meanwhile, Mahalakshmi’s family is demanding justice. Her mother, Meena Rana, described the harrowing scene upon discovering her daughter’s body: “The owner of the building informed me that there was a foul smell coming from the house. When I came and opened the door I saw the body of Mahalakshmi cut into pieces. I saw her for the last time at the Rakshabandhan festival. Since then, her phone has been switched off.”

As the investigation continues, the city of Bengaluru remains on edge, hoping for swift justice for Mahalakshmi and her family. The police are working tirelessly to bring the suspect to justice, and the pursuit of Mukti in Odisha marks a crucial step in this harrowing case.
