The horrifying murder of a young woman in a paying guest accommodation (PG) in Bengaluru has taken a turn with the arrest of the prime suspect. Abhishek, a man from Bihar, was apprehended in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday. The incident, which sent shockwaves across the city, came to light when a CCTV video of the gruesome murder went viral on social media.
The video shows Abhishek, carrying a polythene bag, approaching the victim’s door in the PG corridor. He knocks on the door and forcibly drags the woman, identified as Kriti Kumari, also from Bihar, out of her room. Despite Kriti’s desperate attempts to defend herself, Abhishek brutally slit her throat and fled the scene. The commotion alerted other residents of the building, but they were unable to save Kriti.
Police investigations revealed that the accused had been in a relationship with Kriti’s roommate. Frequent arguments between the couple at the PG had led to Kriti’s intervention, as she advised her friend to separate from her boyfriend. The motive behind the murder remains under investigation, but reports suggest that Kriti’s attempts to mediate the relationship might have led to the tragic incident.
The arrest of Abhishek in Bhopal marks a significant step in the investigation. He is currently being brought back to Bengaluru to face charges and further interrogation. The horrific murder has left the city in shock and raised concerns about safety in shared living spaces. The police are working diligently to uncover the full extent of the crime and ensure justice for the victim.
