Bengaluru Schools and Anganwadis Closed Due to Heavy Rain Warning
Bengaluru is bracing for heavy rainfall, prompting the city’s administration to take precautionary measures for the safety of its citizens. In view of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a ‘yellow’ alert for the city, the Bengaluru Urban district administration has declared a holiday for all schools and Anganwadi centers on Wednesday, October 23.
The decision was made to prioritize the safety of students during the anticipated heavy rainfall. To further ensure the well-being of employees, private companies have also been advised to allow their employees to work from home on Wednesday. The Karnataka government stated that this advisory applies to employees in the IT (Information Technology), BT (Biotech), and other private sectors.
Despite the closure of schools and Anganwadis, colleges and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the area will remain open. The city’s administration is monitoring the situation closely and will provide further updates as necessary.
The IMD’s ‘yellow’ alert signifies the potential for heavy rainfall, which can lead to waterlogging and other disruptions. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay informed about the latest weather updates.
