The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted sporadic rainfall and thunderstorms in Bengaluru this week. From May 14 to May 19, the city is expected to witness a partly cloudy sky with occasional showers. Temperatures are predicted to range between 23 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius. On May 18-19, there is a possibility of isolated rain or thunderstorms. The IMD has also issued weather forecasts for other parts of southern India, including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and parts of Karnataka, predicting rainfall and thunderstorms in these regions until May 16-17. The southwest monsoon is likely to advance towards the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and some parts of the Bay of Bengal around May 19. Atmospheric systems are expected to influence weather conditions over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Bihar, and Jharkhand, bringing light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and squally winds. Similarly, West Bengal, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Odisha are anticipated to experience similar weather conditions until May 20. Hot and humid weather conditions are forecast in Rajasthan for the next three days, while Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Bihar may experience rainfall and thunderstorms on specific days.
