Beyoncé Shines in Butter Yellow at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards

The butter yellow trend, seen on Hailey Bieber, Kim Kardashian, and now Beyoncé, continues to dominate the fashion scene. On Tuesday night, Beyoncé embraced the hue in a stunning Sergio Hudson ensemble at Glamour’s 2024 Women of the Year Awards. She was there to support her mother, Tina Knowles, who received a group award alongside Selena Gomez, Billie Eilish, and Travis Kelce’s mothers for their role in raising this generation’s superstars.

As Tina Knowles gracefully addressed the crowd at the Times Square Edition hotel, expressing how her most fulfilling role has been that of a mother, Beyoncé watched with a touching blend of pride and emotion. The singer is, of course, a devoted parent herself, sharing three children – 12-year-old Blue Ivy and seven-year-old twins Rumi and Sir – with her husband, Jay-Z.

Beyoncé’s signature style shone through. The flipped-up blonde hairstyle and the soft pastel shade of her outfit exuded a playfully feminine charm, perfectly fitting the evening’s theme of honoring the powerful influence of mothers. While the event was filled with heartwarming moments, there was also plenty of humor. Beyoncé playfully warned the audience about her mother’s feisty side, referencing Tina’s Galveston roots with a lighthearted threat: “If you try her, Galveston will come out.”

Beyoncé’s younger sister, Solange, also participated in a video tribute, praising their mother with heartfelt words: “She has all the grace, all the strength, all the poetry, all the spirituality.” High praise indeed, and certainly deserved by Tina Knowles, the woman who raised two incredibly talented individuals who have impacted global culture. While motherhood deserves celebration regardless of one’s children’s achievements, one can’t help but imagine the countless hours Tina Knowles spent nurturing Beyoncé and Solange’s talents, from early dance classes to their rise to stardom.
