On Friday, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw unveiled the ‘Bharat Gaurav Train’ for the Bharat-Nepal Yatra at Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. This special train will embark on a journey through prominent destinations in both India and Nepal, including Ayodhya, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Kashi Vishwanath, and Pashupatinath. Notably, Indian Railways has taken care of all lodging and travel arrangements for this unique cultural experience.
The Bharat Gaurav Trains initiative, launched by the Union Government under the “Dekho Apna Desh” scheme in November 2021, is a testament to the government’s commitment to boosting domestic tourism. The inaugural Bharat Gaurav Train journey commenced in January 2022, connecting Coimbatore North Railway Station in Tamil Nadu to Sainagar Shirdi in Maharashtra. Passengers are assured of visiting all planned destinations on the itinerary, with boarding and disembarking permitted only at designated stations.
