BHEL Bags Rs 3,500 Crore Order from Adani Power for 1,600 MW Thermal Power Plant

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) announced on Wednesday that it has been awarded a Rs 3,500 crore contract by Adani Power Limited to build a 1,600 MW thermal power plant (TPP) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. ‘Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has been awarded a contract by Adani Power Ltd (APL) to build a 2×800 MW TPP in Raipur, Chhattisgarh,’ the state-owned behemoth said in a regulatory filing. The order includes the supply of equipment such as boilers, turbine generators, and associated auxiliaries, as well as control and instrumentation and supervision of erection and commissioning, according to BHEL. The company also stated that the boiler and turbine generator would be manufactured at BHEL’s Trichy and Haridwar plants, respectively.
