Bhutan has taken a significant step towards enhancing its tourism offerings by launching a new Tourism Services Portal. This innovative platform, unveiled by the Department of Tourism, aims to streamline and elevate the visitor experience in the Kingdom.
The portal has already garnered considerable support from local operators, with over 400 tour operators, nearly 1,000 certified guides, 100 hotels, numerous homestays, and other service providers joining the platform. This initiative coincides with Bhutan celebrating 50 years of international tourism in 2024, showcasing the country’s commitment to modernization while preserving its distinctive tourism model.
The Department of Tourism is actively promoting the portal through its website, social media channels, and marketing materials. The goal is to connect travelers with a wide range of tourism services, all while adhering to Bhutan’s philosophy of high-value, low-volume tourism. This approach emphasizes sustainable tourism practices, ensuring that visitors have meaningful and enriching experiences while respecting Bhutan’s unique culture and environment.
