Following an assassination attempt at his West Palm Beach golf course in Florida, former President Donald Trump received phone calls from both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
During a campaign town hall in Michigan, Trump shared details of his conversations with Biden and Harris, describing them as “so nice.” He went on to say, “He was so nice to me yesterday. In one way I sort of wish the call wasn’t made because I do feel a little — He’s so nice. ‘I’m so sorry about what happened and all that,” said Trump. “Same with Kamala today. She could not have been nicer,” he added. Despite the crowd’s negative reaction, Trump insisted his call with Harris was a “very nice call.”
The incident led to the arrest of 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh on gun charges. However, Trump alleged that the rhetoric of Biden and Harris contributed to the violence against him. This assassination attempt was the second of its kind targeting Trump at his Florida golf club. Following the attack, Trump vowed to “never surrender.”
On the same day, Biden and Harris expressed relief that Trump was unharmed. The alleged assailant, a small construction company owner, has been known for his criticism of Trump.
