Biden’s Health: Contradictions and Concerns

President Biden’s health has become a point of discussion after conflicting statements emerged regarding his recent medical examinations. On Wednesday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters that President Biden had not received any medical examinations since his last physical in February. However, just hours later, Biden reportedly contradicted his press secretary by telling governors that he had recently undergone a medical checkup.

During a press briefing, Jean-Pierre explicitly stated that Biden had not had any medical exams since his annual physical in February. When asked by CNN’s Min Jung “MJ” Lee if Biden had any recent medical exams, Jean-Pierre replied with a definitive “no.” She reiterated that the 81-year-old president had not received any kind of medical examination.

These comments came just before Biden met with Democrat governors at the White House. According to the New York Times, Biden informed governors that he had seen the White House physician to check on the cold he experienced during the presidential debate against Trump. He also reportedly told governors that he would no longer schedule events after 8 p.m. to prioritize getting more sleep.

When questioned about the seemingly contradictory comments, the White House issued a statement to Fox News Digital, clarifying that Biden had indeed visited the doctor to address his cold and was recovering well. These developments come as Biden’s age and mental acuity have raised concerns among his closest allies, politicians, and the media.

Biden’s performance during portions of the recent presidential debate, characterized by a raspy voice and rambling answers, fueled these concerns. Following the debate, Democrats and liberal media figures appeared to be in a “panic” over Biden’s performance. Voters, lawmakers, and media outlets have expressed worries about Biden’s age and ability to serve a second term.

The optics of the debate led to a significant backlash within Democrat-friendly media, with journalists reporting that dozens of Democratic Party officials suggested Biden should consider withdrawing his nomination at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August. Some strategists have even suggested that the Democratic Party must act quickly to replace Biden before his nomination is formally made.

Vice President Harris has largely been ruled out as a potential replacement due to her unpopularity among voters. However, California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer have been mentioned as potential last-minute replacements. The contradictory statements regarding Biden’s medical exams, coupled with concerns about his age and performance, have brought his health into the spotlight and sparked discussions about the potential for a leadership change within the Democratic Party.
