Maher’s accusations stem from a 2018 interview he conducted with Daniels, wherein she denied her alleged affair with Trump being a ‘Me Too case’ and asserted that she wasn’t ‘assaulted, attacked, or raped.’
However, in a recent episode of his HBO show, Maher expressed alarm over Daniels’ shifting narrative during the trial. He highlighted how she has now adopted language commonly associated with Me Too allegations, claiming that Trump was ‘bigger’ and ‘blocking the way.’ Maher questioned the authenticity of her altered testimony, emphasizing that as a ‘porn star,’ Daniels is accustomed to ‘having sex with people she doesn’t [like]’ and therefore unlikely to ‘black out.’
Maher’s concerns extend beyond the trial’s impact on the upcoming presidential election.
