The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has submitted a formal complaint to the Election Commission of India against Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. This complaint alleges that Gandhi has been actively engaging in a conspiracy to provoke discord among citizens based on linguistic and regional differences. The BJP contends that Gandhi’s conduct, particularly during his campaign speeches in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, has been geared towards creating a rift between the North and South regions of India.
Tarun Chugh, a prominent BJP leader, was quoted by ANI as stating that the party has filed the complaint against Gandhi due to his persistent efforts to incite conflict within the country along linguistic and regional lines. Chugh emphasized that the BJP strongly values the diversity of languages spoken in India and condemns any attempts to divide the nation.
According to Chugh, Gandhi has been making concerted efforts through his speeches to pit the North and South regions against each other. The BJP leader expressed concern that such actions are detrimental to the country’s progress and unity. The party has formally requested the Election Commission to take strict action against Gandhi for his divisive statements.
During his campaign appearances in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Gandhi has been vocal in his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP. He has accused the ruling party of attempting to impose its ideology on the nation and disregard the beliefs, languages, religions, and cultures of its citizens.
