BJP Demands Probe, Questions Kejriwal’s Silence in Swati Maliwal Assault Case

The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has demanded an investigation into the alleged assault on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal and questioned the silence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP alliance regarding the incident. BJP leader Shazia Ilmi raised concerns about the lack of action taken against the accused, Bibhav Kumar, who is the personal assistant to Kejriwal, and asked if he acted on the chief minister’s orders. She further questioned the safety of Maliwal and alleged that she might be under pressure to remain silent. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala expressed concern over the threat posed by AAP MLAs and workers to women in Delhi, especially in light of the incident at the chief minister’s residence. He asserted that AAP has become an ‘Anti-Women Anarchist Party’ due to its inaction. Earlier, BJP leaders and workers staged a protest near Kejriwal’s residence, demanding a probe into the matter. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva questioned Kejriwal’s failure to file a police complaint against the accused. The AAP, however, has admitted the incident, but further details and actions taken remain unclear.
