BJP Distances Itself from Kangana Ranaut’s Comments on Farmers’ Protests

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday issued a statement distancing itself from Kangana Ranaut’s recent remarks concerning the farmers’ agitation. The party expressed disagreement with the actor-turned-politician’s comments, asserting that Ranaut, who holds the position of Member of Parliament (MP) from Mandi, is not authorized to speak on policy matters. The BJP emphasized that its MP’s statements do not reflect the party’s stance and requested her to refrain from making such pronouncements in the future.

The BJP further underscored its commitment to social harmony and its belief in the principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas,’ which translates to ‘Together with all, development for all, trust of all, and efforts of all.’ This statement serves as a clear indication of the BJP’s intention to distance itself from Ranaut’s controversial views and reaffirm its commitment to inclusive governance.

The controversy arose after Ranaut, in a video shared on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), made inflammatory remarks about the farmers’ protests. She alleged that the protests, which were against the now-repealed three farm laws, could have led to a situation similar to Bangladesh if strong measures had not been taken by the government. She further claimed that incidents of violence, including “bodies hanging and rapes,” had occurred during the protests. Ranaut attributed the continuation of the protests to “outside forces” and vested interests of “insiders.”

Her comments have drawn widespread criticism and condemnation, with many accusing her of spreading misinformation and inciting violence. The BJP’s response, while distancing itself from Ranaut’s remarks, has also highlighted the delicate political situation surrounding the farmers’ protests and the ongoing debate over the government’s handling of the issue.
