BJP Protests Neha Hiremath’s Murder, Demands Capital Punishment for Accused

The Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) district unit in Yadgir organized a protest at the Subhas Chandra Bose Circle on Monday to denounce the horrific murder of Hubballi-based student Neha Hiremath. The protesters, led by District Unit President Ameenreddy Patil Yalagi, demanded capital punishment for the accused, Fayaz.

They criticized the State government’s handling of the case, claiming that the statements made by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G. Parameshwar reflected a lack of seriousness. The protesters demanded that the investigation be handed over to the CBI.

Meanwhile, former MLA Venkatareddy Mudnal threatened to stage a protest if the police failed to take strict legal action against those responsible for the murder of a Dalit boy in Yadgir on Sunday. Mudnal expressed disappointment that the Chief Minister had not visited the victim’s parents in Hubballi due to her Hindu faith.

A memorandum outlining their demands was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner by the BJP protesters. Among the leaders present were Sharanabhupal Reddy, Venkatareddy Abbetumkur, Sharanagouda Badiyal, Guru Kama, Parashuram Kurkundi, and Ayyanna Hundekar.
