The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has announced its representative for the proposed public debate between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Abhinav Prakash, the vice president of BJYM, has been appointed to represent the party in the highly anticipated debate.
The invitation for the debate was extended by former judges Madan B. Lokur and Ajit P. Shah, along with former editor-in-chief of The Hindu, N. Ram. Gandhi had previously expressed his willingness to participate in the debate, which is expected to focus on various issues related to the ongoing Lok Sabha election.
Prakash, a Dalit leader from Uttar Pradesh, brings with him a strong academic background and a deep understanding of social, economic, and political dynamics. He holds an M.Phil degree in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and currently serves as an assistant professor of Economics at Delhi University’s Ramjas College. BJYM president Tejasvi Surya expressed confidence that Prakash’s expertise will contribute significantly to the debate.
The decision to nominate Prakash as the BJYM’s representative is seen as a strategic move by the BJP to counter Gandhi’s challenge and to showcase the party’s commitment to engaging in public discourse on important national issues. The debate is expected to generate widespread attention and provide a platform for both sides to present their views on key electoral issues.
