Bloc Party Announce Intimate Warm-Up Show Ahead of Summer Appearances

Ahead of their major summer appearances, including shows in London, Dublin, Belfast, and Glastonbury, Bloc Party has announced an exclusive warm-up performance. The band confirmed their debut album ‘Silent Alarm’ would be played in its entirety at a significant outdoor gig in Crystal Palace this July, marking their 20th anniversary. The gig will be Kele Okereke and co’s biggest headline concert to date, with support from Friendly Fires, The Hives (UK exclusive performance), The Mysterines, and Connie Constance.

In addition to the Crystal Palace show, Bloc Party has announced two other live dates for the summer. They will perform at The Telegraph Building in Belfast on July 4th before taking the stage at the 3Arena in Dublin the following night (July 5th).

Now, Bloc Party has revealed an intimate warm-up show ahead of their other appearances. It will take place at Birmingham’s O2 Institute on June 28th, with tickets going on sale at 10 am BST this Friday (April 26th). The show is billed as ’20 Years of Bloc Party: Performing ‘Silent Alarm’ and the Greatest Hits’.

Bloc Party is also confirmed to play this year’s Glastonbury, which takes place on the same weekend as the Birmingham show. This suggests that their festival set will likely occur on Saturday or Sunday.

The band recently released some of their classic tracks, including the 2005 single ‘Two More Years’ and its B-sides, on streaming platforms. They had previously confirmed that ‘every song missing’ would soon be added to the services. The 2004 EP ‘Little Thoughts’ was also added to mark its 20th anniversary.
