Blue Jays Defeat Royals 5-3, Win Seventh of Last Nine

In Monday night’s showdown between the Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals, the Blue Jays emerged victorious with a 5-3 scoreline. This victory marked their seventh in the last nine games.

The Blue Jays’ success was fueled by Bo Bichette’s bases-clearing triple and Daulton Varsho’s two-run homer. Yusei Kikuchi delivered an efficient performance, allowing only one baserunner through the first five innings. Bichette’s triple in the third inning drove in three runs, while Varsho’s homer in the sixth extended the Blue Jays’ lead to 5-0.

Despite the Royals’ efforts, which included two homers, they were unable to overcome the Blue Jays’ strong start. Tyler Duffey’s two scoreless innings in relief and Jordan Romano’s save helped secure the win for Toronto.

Brady Singer pitched for the Royals, but his three walks in the third inning proved costly, leading to the Blue Jays’ three-run rally. The Royals have now lost three straight games at home, after winning their previous nine at Kauffman Stadium.
