Blue World Voyages is set to shake up the cruise industry with a groundbreaking concept that redefines the meaning of travel. In a pioneering move, the company is purchasing a 5-star cruise ship from a prestigious operator, scheduled for delivery in 2026. This vessel will be transformed into an all-suite sanctuary that fully embodies the Blue World ethos: luxury, wellness, and adventure.
The ship will undergo a complete makeover under the direction of visionary designer Tomas Tillberg. The upper decks will feature 30 luxurious Residences, which have already attracted advance reservations from eager buyers. Co-founder and interim CEO Fredy Dellis describes the venture as offering “the ultimate lifestyle for sophisticated travelers, enabling them to explore exciting destinations from the comforts of home.”
The ship will offer 160 expansive passenger suites, each spanning approximately 352 square feet – nearly twice the size of typical cruise cabins. These spacious accommodations will feature state-of-the-art wellness amenities, expansive balconies for enjoying the views, cozy lounge areas for relaxation, and spacious walk-in closets for ultimate comfort.
Beyond the luxurious suites, residents will enjoy unrestricted access to unparalleled facilities. The ship will boast the most extensive athletic and conditioning deck at sea, providing a comprehensive range of fitness opportunities. Top-tier wellness amenities, including a spa, recovery areas, and rejuvenation programs, will also be available, ensuring a holistic approach to well-being.
The ship’s redesign also includes a seawater lap pool and a marina deck that allows for easy access to various water sports, offering an active and immersive experience for guests.
Founder and chairman Gene Meehan highlights the disruptive nature of Blue World’s approach to ocean travel. “Nothing like this exists,” he states. “We intersect wellness, personal enrichment, and adventure travel to place something new in the water, Active Lifestyle Cruising with like-minded passengers and residence owners onboard.”
Meehan emphasizes that Blue World’s target audience of active, health-minded adults positions the company at the forefront of the rapidly growing $1.1 trillion Wellness Tourism market. “Our team is ready to set the benchmarks for sports, fitness, and wellness programming at sea.”
Blue World Voyages is committed to environmental stewardship. The company plans to invest $80 million in an Adaptive Refit™ initiative, employing LEED principles to optimize energy efficiency, minimize waste, and use eco-friendly materials.
This ambitious project marks Blue World Voyages as the first cruise line entirely dedicated to sports and wellness, designed by and for those who desire to maintain a vigorous, health-focused lifestyle while exploring the world. Blue World Voyages is set to redefine the cruise experience, offering a unique blend of luxury, adventure, and wellness for the discerning traveler.
