Bobcat, a leading global provider of equipment, innovation, and worksite solutions, has taken a significant step towards sustainability by installing 14 stationary fuel cells from HyAxiom, Inc. at two of its manufacturing facilities. These fuel cells operate in conjunction with the commercial power grid, reducing reliance on fossil fuels and contributing to a cleaner energy future.
The installation of 14 stationary fuel cells, three at one facility and eleven at another, marks a milestone as the first commercial installations of this type in the state. Bobcat can now generate a substantial portion of its annual power and heat requirements through these fuel cells, reducing operating expenses and minimizing environmental impact. This initiative aligns with Bobcat’s long-standing commitment to advancing its facilities and fostering a more sustainable future.
HyAxiom’s PureCell M400 fuel cells, utilized in the project, are known for their efficiency and versatility. They can operate on various fuels, including natural gas, hydrogen, and LPG, providing a resilient and cost-effective source of energy. The fuel cells are also capable of load-following, allowing them to adapt to changing energy demands and providing a reliable backup during grid outages.
