Body of Missing Hiker Found at Angeles National Forest, Cause of Death Revealed

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Julia Li, 21, was last seen near Bailey Canyon Park in Sierra Madre at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Li’s mother reported her missing when they were separated during a hike and Li failed to meet her at their car at the agreed-upon time. Early Monday morning, the Sheriff’s Department issued an alert for Li, describing her as being 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 110 pounds. Her body was discovered later that day by sheriff’s search and rescue personnel. The cause of death, as determined by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, was blunt trauma. Currently, the Sheriff’s Department does not suspect foul play.
